The 5-Year Strategic and Operational Plan (SOP) is an ongoing and evolving document that provides specific, attainable, and measurable goals for Concordia University. The Strategic Plan is a map to the future of Concordia University, and the Operational Plan is the tactical plan or vehicle for getting to the mileposts Concordia University has set, fueled by a carefully deployed group of human and financial resources.
The Operational Plan includes
a) The Business Model and Management Plan (BMMP), by which the University operates day-to-day,
b) the Campus Facility Master Plan (CFMP) by which physical facility needs are identified to upgrade the current business as well as to change and grow the business long-term, along with a sequence for change based on funding and enrollment growth, and
c) The Capital Campaign (CC) by which personal relationships to the University are encouraged and nurtured, supporter interests in the University are clarified, unexpected opportunities are discovered, and financial resources are generated to implement content of Campus Facilities Master Planning.
The Strategic Plan explains why the University must change and move forward within its mission and vision, and describes what changes and improvements are proposed in its educational and campus life programs. The CFMP provides shape to the mission, vision, changes and improvements by documenting how facilities will evolve and look as they emerge on campus. When they will appear is dependent in large part on customer reaction and response to the CC, to improving existing and new academic and campus life programs, and trends in enrollment growth.
The initial draft CFMP is developed from the most recent revision of the SOP, through SOP interpretation and input by constituency groups, student organizations, faculty groups, administration and customers of the University’s services, and through the experience and expertise of the University’s architectural consultants.
