WHAT:
The American Cancer Society Relay For Life is a unique community event that allows individuals and teams to celebrate the lives of cancer survivors, to remember loved ones lost to the disease and to rally together as a community to fight cancer. Highlights of some key activities for the event include:
· Opening Ceremonies 10:00 AM June 28
· Cancer Survivor Victory Lap 10:00 AM June 28
· Fight Back Ceremony 3:00 PM June 28
· Luminaria Ceremony 9:00 PM June 28
· Closing Ceremonies 9:30 AM June 29
As always, all members of the community are invited to participate in Relay For Life of Ann Arbor. Join us for all or a portion of the 24 hours by walking laps, participating in games and activities, listening to music performances or lighting a luminaria!
WHY:
One out of every three Americans will be touched by cancer during his/her lifetime. This event raises funds that will be used toward cancer research and various community outreach programs and services.
WHO:
More than 24 teams will turn out with nearly 400 participants from Ann Arbor and the surrounding area. Visitors are welcome to enjoy the event at any point of the 24 hour period. There will be plenty of activities for children too. We ask that visitors please leave their dogs at home.
