Michigan teaching certificates are valid for up to five years and must be renewed
by completion of 6 semester hours of academic credit from an approved institution,
or the completion of 18 SB-CEUs, or a combination of the two.
SB-CEUs are a cost effective alternative.
Teachers may select from individual graduate courses for professional development or to renew professional licensure.
Concordia University is an approved sponsor of State Board Continuing Education
Units (SB-CEUs). Schools and organizations wishing to submit a class, workshop,
meeting or staff development topic for SB-CEU consideration should use the forms
provided below.
