“ART, LIFE, & NEW YORK CITY: THE ART CAPITAL OF THE WORLD?”
ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 17, 2006-International artist, Serdar Arat, will conduct a slide lecture entitled, “Art, Life, & New York City: The Art Capital of the World?” as part of Concordia University- Ann Arbor’s cua2rts lecture series. The event will be held on Thursday, March 23 at 7:30 p.m. in the Riverside Conference Room in the lower level of the Student Union.
This slide lecture will focus on art and life in New York City and explore the myth and reality of “The Art Capital of the World” through the work of several prominent artists, new developments in art and technology, galleries and museums, and the overall impact of the New York art world on artists and public alike. The lecturer, Serdar Arat, is an artist who lives, works, and exhibits his work in NY City as well as nationally and internationally since 1980, and is a professor of art and the director of Concordia Gallery at Concordia College in Bronxville, NY.
