CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY THEATER PRESENTS “THE BOYFRIEND”
ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 18, 2006- The Concordia University Theater Department presents “The Boyfriend” at Concordia University-Ann Arbor (CUAA) on April 20-22 at 8 p.m., and April 23 at 2:30 p.m., in the Kreft Center Black Box Theater.
Set on the French Riviera at Mme. Dubonnet’s fashionable finishing school for girls, all of whom are, as you might have guessed, boy crazy. A delightful spoof of the old-fashioned operetta set to a flapper beat, featuring such popular songs as “I Could Be Happy with You,” “A Room in Bloomsbury” and “It’s Never Too Late to Fall in Love. “The Boy Friend” is an affectionate valentine to the innocence and high spirits of the Charleston, cloche hat and short skirt days of the Jazz Age.
“The Boyfriend” is an adaptation of the 1954 novel by Sandy Wilson. Lyrics and Music are also by Sandy Wilson. Tickets are for general admission. Further information and ticket purchase is available through the Kreft Center Box Office by calling (734) 995-4612, Monday through Friday from noon – 4 p.m. This event is sponsored by Comerica Bank.
