WORLD CLASS PHOTOGRAPHER SPEAKS AT CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY
ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 13, 2006- World-renowned photojournalist John Isaac is coming to Concordia University-Ann Arbor (CUAA) to discuss photography, his art, and his many travels. The event, which is free of charge, will take place in CUAA’s Kreft Center Lecture Hall at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 22.
Isaac has experience in well over 100 nations, taking photographs for the United Nations, where he was employed from 1969 to 1998. His images are not only internationally acclaimed and recognized, but also stirring and colorful depictions of life in far away places. Isaac captures the spirit of the moment and of the place in his evocative and thought-provoking snapshots of the human soul. In addition to his work for the UN, Isaac has authored several books in his Children in Crisis series, which depicts the lives of young children throughout the world where there is strife and unrest. He also co-authored Coorg, Land of the Kodavas, and Endangered Peoples.
While speaking at Concordia, Isaac will entertain questions from his audience about photography as well as discussing his recent trip to Kashmir.
