URBAN TRANSPORT PERFROMS AT CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY
ANN ARBOR, Mich., April 19, 2006- The modern jazz quintet, Urban Transport, will be performing at Concordia University- Ann Arbor’s Kreft Center Black Box Theater on Thursday, April 27 at 7:30 p.m. Urban Transport’s repertoire consists of more than fifty original compositions influenced by bebop, swing, modal jazz, Afro-Cuban, Latin, smooth jazz and R&B.
The quintet is made up of trombonist Vincent Chandler, alto saxophonist Dean Moore, bassist Josef Deas, drummer Sean Dobbins, and a roster of various pianists. In 2002 Urban Transport won the Heineken Jazz Search and has performed in the Detroit Jazz Festival for the past three years. Tickets are for adults, for seniors, for students, and for children 12 years and under.
