MILES AWARDED AN HONORARY DOCTORATE FROM CONCORDIA
ANN ARBOR, Mich. April 28, 2006–Robert G. Miles,president and chief executive officer of Lutheran Child & Family Service of Michigan, will be awarded an honorary Doctor of Laws on May 6 in Ann Arbor during Concordia University- Ann Arbor’s (CUAA) spring commencement ceremony.
Miles is being recognized for his distinguished servant leadership in the Church and society through his advocacy for children and families. Over the years he has held many positions of leadership within his professional community on the national and state levels including; being a member and current chair of the Michigan Federation for Children and Families, a former chair of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod’s National Task Force on Children at Risk welfare reform studies, and a national figure involved with symposiums and national initiatives on children at risk and the poor.
