CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY INSTALLS INTERIM CAMPUS CHAPLAIN
ANN ARBOR, Mich., September 6, 2006- The Rev. Oliver Washington was officially installed as the interim campus chaplain and director of church relations at Concordia University–Ann Arbor (CUAA), Wednesday, August 30 during the opening service of Concordia’s 44th academic year.
The campus chaplain and director of church relations (CC-DCR) directs the worship life of the campus and provides spiritual leadership and counsel to the campus community. He is has responsible for establishing and maintaining positive relationships with Lutheran congregations, promoting a positive image and clear understanding of the mission of CUAA among professional church workers, congregational members, and fraternal organizations.
Prior to joining Concordia University-Ann Arbor, Washington served as pastor at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Detroit, Mich. He has served over 20 years with the U.S. Military and serves as chaplain for the HHD 210th Military Police in Taylor, Mich.
