BOOS HONORED WITH OUTSTANDING ALUMNI AWARD
ANN ARBOR, Mich. April 20, 2007– Dr. Manfred B. Boos, 1968 graduate of Concordia Lutheran Junior College, now Concordia University–Ann Arbor (CUAA), will be awarded the Outstanding Alumnus Award on Saturday, May 5 at 10:00 a.m. during CUAA’s spring commencement ceremony.
The Outstanding Alumnus Award honors a graduate of Concordia for reflecting in their life and career the values upon which the university is founded.
Boos currently serves as senior vice president for Academics and is a distinguished professor of Mathematics at Concordia University–Chicago where he has served as a member of the faculty for twenty-seven years.
Boos was born in Kirchheim-Teck, Germany and immigrated to the United States with his parents and two brothers in 1952. During his years of ministry he has served on committees, boards and as chair of several congregations. Fred is married to Sharon, a fellow educator, and has two children, Brian and Heidi and one grandchild, Nikolaus. He and Sharon reside in Oak Park, IL.
