CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY CHOIR TRAVELS TO FLORIDA FOR SPRING TOUR
ANN ARBOR, Mich., February 12, 2008 – The Concordia University – Ann Arbor Choir will travel to Florida during their 2008 spring tour. They will make eight stops over the course of the tour, including stops in Cincinnati, Ohio, Marietta, Ga., and Clearwater, Fla. At each stop, the choir will present a concert of sacred a cappella choral music. The choir is conducted by Brian L. Altevogt, assistant professor of music. The concert will also feature Arborsong, a chamber choir of auditioned members of the Concordia Choir, conducted by Altevogt.
The program, “Christ Our Redeemer and Savior,” features pieces inspired by the birth and death of Christ. In addition to contemporary composers Leo Nestor, Bob Chilcott, and Alice Parker, they will present works from the music of Schütz, Lotti, di Lasso, and Gustav Schreck.
