CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY WIND ENSEMBLE 2008 SPRING TOUR
ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 10, 2008 – The Concordia University Ann Arbor Wind Ensemble will embark on their 2008 Spring Tour this April. From April 3-5, they will perform four concerts of sacred music with stops in Bloomington, Illinois, St. Louis, Missouri, and Sawyer, Michigan. The wind ensemble will present their home concert on Friday, April 11, at 8:00 p.m., in the Chapel of the Holy Trinity on Concordia’s campus. The concert will feature the works by Holst, Ticheli, Arnold, Van der Roost, Copland, and others. This event is free and open to the public.
The Wind Ensemble is conducted by Matthew Wolf, assistant professor of music. The group is comprised of wind and percussion players, selected by audition. Its repertoire is chosen from among the finest traditional and contemporary sacred and secular wind band music. This variety of music enhances the development of performers, music educators, and church workers as they grow as musicians. The ensemble performs at churches in Michigan throughout the year and tours the Midwest annually, sharing God’s gift of music with a wide variety of audiences.
