FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY ADDS PRIVATEL CABLE, HEIGHTENING TELEVISION AND SECURITY OPTIONS
ANN ARBOR, Mich., August 6, 2008 Concordia University Ann Arbor has contracted Privatel Cable to help increase televised viewing options for students. The upcoming fall semester will be the first time students will have access to stations including: NFL Network, MTV2, ESPN-U, ESPN Classic, VH1 Classic, and more. In addition to cable stations, the university gains 10 internal channels to be used for airing announcements and, potentially, university sports and chapel services, while still providing room for growth on campus as new media options are explored.
Vision displays set up around campus are controlled by the university and will continuously air announcements. In the case of an emergency situation, the new system offers crisis management capabilities that enable Concordia to send an alert to the entire campus on central campus via vision displays and in dorm rooms over cable access. Cable alerts, coupled with new email and cell phone text alerts, offer Concordia heightened crisis management security measures ensuring the safety of all parties on campus.
