Concordia University Hosts Second Annual Conference on Spirituality and the Arts & Sciences

2010 SAS Conference
ANN ARBOR, Mich., March 10, 2010 - The Second Annual Conference on Spirituality and the Arts Sciences will be held at Concordia University Ann Arbor on Tuesday, March 16, 2010 from noon to 5:30 p.m. The conference features panel discussions on the theme “Creative Adaptation,” and functions as the culmination of the Kreft Arts Program’s annual season of activities. The conference concludes with a keynote address by the University of Michigan’s 2009 Golden Apple Award winner, John U. Bacon, at 4:30 p.m. The keynote address and the conference panel discussions are free and open to the public.
John U. Bacon has written for Time, The New York Times, and ESPN Magazine, among others. He has authored five books on business and sports, the most recent being Bo's Lasting Lessons, a New York Times and Wall Street Journal business best-seller. Bacon has taught at Miami of Ohio, Northwestern's Medill School of Journalism, and the University of Michigan. In 2009, he was awarded Michigan's Golden Apple Award, and The Daily Beast named his course one of “America’s Ten Hottest Classes.” Additional information on John U. Last year’s conference was held on March 26, 2009, and featured a keynote address entitled, “The Rarer Act: Vengeance and Reconciliation in Shakespeare,” from University of Michigan Professor of English, Ralph Williams.
