Concordia University announced today a .9 million gift that will create scholarships for promising business students and develop a 21st century interactive business education environment on the campus. The gift, made by the trust of Oscar W. Haab, extends the legacy of the late Concordia University benefactor, who originally established a trust in the early nineties to grow the business management program at the University.
The .9 million gift was presented by Kay Haab, second wife of the late Oscar W. Haab, in a ceremony today on the campus attended by university officials, students and faculty. Haab noted her late husband’s desire to build the reputation of the Concordia business school as a legacy to his diverse and successful business interests in the area. "Oscar had a long and successful business career, marked by his giving back to the community. This gift will continue that legacy, enabling a quality business education for deserving students and providing our future business leaders with a quality business education environment," Haab said. The Ethel M. Haab School of Business and Management was named for Oscar Haab’s first wife when he established a trust at Concordia University in the early nineties.
