ANN ARBOR – Concordia University announced the beginning today of a 12-to-18 month transformation program that will build on the present successes of the University and result in the expansion of its academic offerings. Programs most likely to benefit from the expansion include the School of Adult & Continuing Education, the Haab School of Business and the Graduate Studies Program with a continued emphasis on the Universities’ traditional programs.
In a special meeting of the Church Extension Fund (CEF) of the Michigan District last week, the CEF voted to provide the necessary funding for the transformation program, which will begin immediately. “We are delighted to receive this funding from the CEF, which gives Concordia University Ann Arbor the necessary financial footing to move forward with daily operations while expanding our educational offering and growing our enrollment,” said Charlie Caciano, Chief Financial Officer of the Board for Higher Education/Concordia University System serving as interim Chief Operating Officer, Concordia University Ann Arbor.
A number of ‘loaned executives’ from the national Concordia University System will be tapped to add depth of expertise and strengthen programs already at the Ann Arbor campus. Caciano added that while the University explores ways to expand its educational offering and increase enrollment over the long term, the school remains committed to meeting the professional church worker needs of the church. Additional announcements regarding new programs and educational offerings will be made throughout the transformation process.
In support of the Concordia University Ann Arbor transformation program, church leaders in the region are promoting participation in the National Concordia University Sunday program this Sunday, April 27, 2003.
Concordia University – Ann Arbor is a liberal arts institution of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod.
