Ann Arbor, MI/February 17, 2004 – The Concordia University-Ann Arbor (CUAA) Choir and Wind Ensemble will depart on February 28, 2004 for their annual Spring Break Tour when they will perform for schools and congregations throughout Southwest Michigan.

The Concordia Choir, under the direction of Professor Brian Altevogt, is a select ensemble of students from a broad range of academic disciplines. The choir performs a wide variety of sacred and secular choral literature ranging from early Renaissance to the masterworks of the twentieth century. The Concordia Wind Ensemble is highly regarded instrumental group on the university musical scene, and plays a prominent role within the Music Department curriculum. Andrew J. Schultz, Assistant Professor of Music is the conductor. Since the founding of university in 1963, both the Concordia Choir and the Wind Ensemble have maintained a reputation of excellence in music. Recent tours have taken the choir throughout the Midwest as well as to Washington D.C., New York, Louisiana, Texas, and Colorado.
The Department of Music at CUAA offers a broad range of performance and study opportunities. Performance groups include the Concordia Wind Ensemble, Chamber Winds, Jazz Ensemble, Pep Band, Concordia Choir, Chorale, Handbell Ensemble, Brass Quintet, Arborsong vocal group, and Common Ground. The Music Department offers a Bachelor of Arts degree with majors/minors in music elementary and secondary education, performance, and church music.
