Concordia University-Ann Arbor is pleased to announce the promotion of Joel Iverson as the new director of the Office of Marketing and Communication.
Iverson first began serving the University in the fall of 1997 as an adjunct professor of graphic design in the art department. In 1998, he began his full time duties as the director of digital media studies in the art department and as the graphic designer for the Office of Marketing and Communication. Later promoted to director of creative services, Iverson has led the visual direction of the University for the last five years. In his new role, he and his staff are working to build the brand awareness of the University and expand the communication reach of CUAA to its constituencies.
Prior to coming to CUAA, Iverson worked as a graphic designer for Envision, Inc. and Bidlack Creative Services. He received a Bachelor of Arts in art and communication from Concordia College in Moorhead, Minn. and is currently pursuing a Master of Arts in graphic design at Eastern Michigan University. His wife, Kim (nee Giese), is a graduate of CUAA and the director of housing for the University. They have two daughters.
