ANN ARBOR, Mich. /Aug. 3, 2005 – The Kreft Center Gallery at Concordia University–Ann Arbor will host an exhibition of photographs by photojournalist John Isaac on display Aug. 30 through Oct. 9 with an opening reception and lecture by the artist on Sept. 8 at 7:30 p.m.
Throughout his 20 year career as a UN photographer, John Isaac, has traveled to more than 100 countries capturing the tragedies and triumphs of our changing world. A native of , his worldwide coverage includes the Israeli/Lebanon conflict in 1978, the boat people in 1979 and the US/Iranian hostage crisis in 1980. In the 1980’s he worked throughout the African nations covering the drought and famine. Besides his work with the UN, Isaac provided coverage for UNICEF, working closely with the late actress Audrey Hepburn, Harry Belafonte and Liv Ullman. This exhibition, premiering in
Michigan , showcases some of the most compelling work from this award-winning and accomplished photojournalist.
The Kreft Center Gallery is located in the
Kreft
Center for the Arts on Concordia’s campus at
4090 Geddes Road
just west of US-23 in
Ann Arbor . The gallery is open Tuesday through Friday from noon-4 p.m. and Saturday and Sunday from 1-5 p.m. The exhibition is free and open to the public. For more information call (734) 995-4612 or email kreftgallery@cuaa.edu.
