CONCORDIA UNIVERSITY-ANN ARBOR HONORS FAITHFUL SUPPORTER
ANN ARBOR, Mich. March 23, 2005– Concordia University (CUAA) announced that Phillip Leege, a charter member of the Concordia UniversityPresident’s Advisory Council and Cincinnati, Ohio resident, will be awarded the prestigious Christus Primus award on May 7 in Ann Arbor at Concordia’s spring commencement.
Leege is being recognized for a lifetime of service to the church and exemplifying in word and deed, the university motto, “That in all things Christ might have the preeminence,” (Colossians 1:18). Leege volunteers his time in the capacity of a professional consultant, auditing the physical plant and mechanical infrastructure of the university. He has served two university presidents, Dr. James koerschen and Rev. Thomas Ahlersmeyer, on the President’s Advisory Council and now serves as an advisor to the Board of Regents.
Leege graduated from Valparaiso University College of Engineering in 1957. He then went on to work for Proctor & Gamble for forty-one years before retiring in 1998. He currently serves on the CUAA Strategic Plan Review Committee, and is working to raise the standard for managing investments made in campus facilities. He and his wife, Judy, of 45 years, have four children and seven grandchildren and are members of Messiah Lutheran Church in Cincinnati, Ohio.
