First-Year Seminar
As part of the comprehensive First Year experience, each first year resident participates in a for-credit class entitled First-Year Seminar. The class is taught in the common area of each residence hall and covers materials pertinent to first year students. With the help of materials such as CampusToolKit.com, StrengthsQuest, and MyStudentBody.com, residents explore their personal strengths and personality types as well as other topics such as the meaning of a Christian Liberal Arts education, stress reduction, and financial awareness. Students are also oriented to what campus has to offer and the steps they can take to become a successful student.
