Obtain your PIN at www.pin.ed.gov Your PIN (personal identification number) gives you access to FAFSA on the Web, allows you to view your status history, and sign your student loan Master Promissory Note (MPN) online.

FAFSA Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to complete your FAFSA. You will need your 2007 federal tax return to complete the 2008-09 FAFSA. Read the directions carefully. Do not skip items you do not understand. Call 1-800-4FEDAID for help. Make sure you sign the application. Review your Student Aid Report for accuracy. Corrections, if needed, can be made at www.fafsa.ed.gov.

Required Verification If your application is selected for verification, please return the requested documentation/information within 10 business days.
• Verification Worksheet (be sure to complete and sign all sections of the form, front and back)
• A complete/signed copy of your and, if married, your spouse’s 2007 federal tax return
(including all schedules) and W2’s
• Go to www.fafsa.ed.gov to electronically sign your FAFSA using your PIN

Award Letter You should receive an award letter 10 business days after all of your financial aid application information/materials are complete. Your award(s) will be based on full-time enrollment (6 credits) and may be reduced if you enroll as less than a full-time student.

Stafford Loans Stafford Loans are not automatically processed. You must go online and apply for your loan(s) by following the directions below. Please note: Macintosh OS is not compatible for completing the online application process.

Stafford Loan Entrance Counseling Go to www.cuaa.edu/finaid, click on Loans, then on Stafford Loans. Start at Step 1 by clicking on Entrance Counseling. Complete Steps 1-3. All first-time Concordia University borrowers must complete this process.

Stafford Loan Master Promissory Note / Online $ Amount Request Go to www.cuaa.edu/finaid, click on Loans, then on Stafford Loans, go to step 3 and click on APPLY. This information must be provided in order for the school to certify your loan eligibility. You may borrow the awarded loan amount or you may reduce your requested amount online.

Loan Certification The Office of Financial Aid will certify your loan eligibility once all prior steps are completed. You will then receive a Loan Disclosure Statement from the Guarantee Agency indicating the approved loan(s) amount(s) and the estimated disbursement dates. Keep this letter in a safe place for future reference.

Verify Your Loan Status Check the status of your student loans, loan amounts and scheduled disbursement dates online at www.mygreatlakes.org.

Student Loan(s) Disbursement Student loans are disbursed directly to the school twice each semester following the second class meeting of each course. The loan funds are posted to your student account within 3 business days by the Student Accounts Office. If the loan funds create a credit balance on your account, they will normally be refunded to you within 14 business days after the date they are posted to your account.

Notice of Responsibility Until student loan funds are disbursed to the school, you are responsible for your tuition charges. If your student loan has not been certified prior to the start of coursework, you must make alternative payment arrangements and may also incur late fees. Students who are provisionally enrolled are not eligible for financial aid and must make payment arrangements for their first course prior to the start of that course.
