Reception Venues

Thanks for your interest in holding a wedding/ reception at Concordia University! Concordia has a few different areas on campus that you could possibly use for a wedding reception. Depending on the number of guests and the type of setting you have imagined you may want to have a wedding reception outside the manor, in the black box theatre, or in the Riverside Conference rooms.



The manor was built around 1936 and is a fully equipped picturesque European country house. All the rooms in the manor are quite small and are perfect for mingling around for a reception. The first floor of the manor can hold up to 125 people throughout all the rooms. The spacious patio and grounds is beautiful in the summer overlooking a tiny pond with a fountain and gazebo. Receptions held here have to rent a tent for the back of the manor so they can accommodate a sit down meal for their whole party- up to 300 guests!

The riverside conference rooms are great for an inside/outdoor wedding.  The south wall of the riverside conference rooms is practically all windows looking out onto a patio. The rooms hold up to 175 people, a little less if you are planning on having a dance floor and or band/DJ.

The black box theatre is a beautiful place to hold a wedding reception. A 60 X60 ft. room, connected to the Kreft Center Gallery upstairs, with dark wood floors, tall ceiling, and brick/black curtain walls is truly a unique place to hold any sort of event. The theatre can hold about 200 people for a reception style event. The lighting in the black box can be arranged to accent different tables or areas to accommodate your individual taste and reception.
