RESIDENTIAL LIFE

What’s it like to live at Concordia University?

Let’s begin with what you won’t have to live with: crowded high-rise dormitories, cramped rooms, noisy hallways, and long walks to class.

Concordia students live in a dozen intimate residence halls with no more than 32 students in each building. There are separate residences for men and women, with each clustered just outside Concordia’s central campus. Classes, meals, activities and student parking are only a few steps away.

Inside the residence hall, you and a roommate will share a wall-to-wall carpeted bedroom in a two-bedroom suite. Concordia offers you a choice of selecting your own roommate or having the university match you with someone who shares your interests. A few single rooms are also available for an additional fee. Each suite is separate from the others to reduce noise and increase privacy.

Each suite includes:

  • A semi-private bathroom (no more than four people per bathroom)
  • Beds, drapes, dressers, study desks with built-in bookcases, and wardrobe closets
  • High-speed wifi, ethernet, and cable TV service.

When it’s time for a study break, you can relax with friends in the common area (CA) located inside each residence hall. In one corner of the CA is a full kitchen, so snack-time is anytime. In addition, you’ll enjoy our centrally located dining hall. In the Cardinal Cafe and the Cardinal's Nest, the food is good and there’s lots of it. Our cooks like to keep meals interesting with theme nights, seasonal treats, and new menu items.

Each hall has a Resident Assistant (RA) and a Spiritual Life Representative (SLR) to lend a hand when you need one. Residence halls and rooms are always locked and our security staff is on duty 24 hours a day. A secure campus environment is one of our top priorities.

At Concordia, many activities revolve around our residence halls. You’ll have the opportunity to play on intramural sports teams, join a devotions group, or serve in extracurricular, church-related, charitable, or community organizations.
