Mission Statement/DPS Personnel

The goal/purpose of the Concordia University Department of Public Safety is to:
 
  • Minimize the occurrence of preventable crime.
  • Identify and effect prosecution of those individuals who violate federal, state, and local laws, or as appropriate, campus rules and regulations.
  • Facilitate the safe and orderly movement of people and vehicles throughout the campus through fair and firm traffic regulation enforcement.
  • Maximize the professional development and job satisfaction of department personnel.
  • In conjunction with the appropriate agencies, ensure provision of emergency services.
  • Create and nurture a feeling of respect for and confidence in the department on the part of students, faculty and staff, visitors, and criminal justice agencies, so that they support and assist the department in its affairs and efforts.
  • To treat all persons fairly and with respect, and with malice and ill will towards none.
