The executive producers of the video program “Hometown Baghdad” are on campus to talk about the genesis and production of this award-winning series. “On March 19th, 2007, the war in Iraq entered its fifth year. While images of destruction dominate our media, the life of the everyday Iraqi is the great untold story. In response, Chat the Planet produced Hometown Baghdad, an online documentary series about life during wartime. Watch as three young Iraqis struggle to maintain a semblance of life, sanity and safety as their country descends further into civil war.”

Award-winning novelist and short story writer, Peter Ho Davies reads from his recent novel, The Welsh Girl, and talks about his work. Set in Wales during the last days of WWII, the novel relates the story of a young Welsh girl, betrayed by an English soldier stationed near her rural village, and the German prisoner-of-war with whom she builds a brief but profound relationship.
