CUAA will be the site of a fall youth retreat called Tool Time on Fri., Nov. 9though Sun. the 11. Organized by the student-run CUAA organization New Crew, which seeks to glorify God and connect with high school students in the area, the retreat is an opportunity for young people to deepen their faith in God through relationships with others, according to Stephanie Emington, chairperson of New Crew.

“The retreat is indescribable and joy-filled,” said Emington. “You cannot attend Tool Time and leave unchanged.”

The theme of this year’s retreat is “Masterpiece” based on the Bible readings in Psalm 139 and Ephesians 2:8-10. New Crew members say the deep, heartfelt connections made during the retreat is what makes it all worthwhile.

“I thought I was going to teach them, but they ended up teaching me more than I could have ever imaged,” said Cara Graber, small group leader.

The retreat beings on Fri. night at 7 p.m. and runs through Sun. morning. All students will be housed with the New Crew team in dorm rooms. Registration for the retreat ends Nov. 1. Those that register before Oct. 13 pay $50 per student. Registration between Oct. 14 and 27 is $60. After Oct. 27 the cost for the retreat is $70.
