CUAA kicks off its regular football season on September 6th at 1 p.m. versus Trinity International. Prior to the game, at 12:45 p.m., the University will hold a brief dedication for the new athletic field.

The new facility will be used by both the football and soccer teams and is equipped with a synthetic playing field that gives the appearance of natural grass. While much of the construction has been completed, the remaining elements of the new field will be finished within the next few years.

Included in the next phase of construction will be a permanent grandstand and a press box. In the meantime, according to Lonnie Pries, athletic director and head football coach at CUAA, a portable press box and seating will be brought in for this season.

“This new field is a very visible sign of the progress and growth that has taken place here at Concordia over the last few years,” said Pries.

The new facility is located at the corner of Geddes and Earhart Roads in Ann Arbor. The dedication on September 6th will include brief remarks by the CUAA President, Rev. Dr. Patrick Ferry and Curt Gielow, Chief Campus Executive, along with a ribbon cutting.
