With a theme of Renewal, Concordia University Ann Arbor will be hosting its annual alumni homecoming weekend September 12 and 13. Activities kick off Friday evening at 7:00 p.m. as the CUAA Cardinals take on the Davenport Panthers in a home volleyball match. After the game, both alumni and current students are invited to enjoy s’mores and a bonfire on the Riverside Patio.
“With more than 50 years of history, we hope to see a diverse group of graduates and their families enjoying a fun day on campus,” said Laura Thomas, director of CUAA’s Alumni and Donor Relations.
Saturday’s activities will start with a Homecoming Tailgate on central campus from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. There will be food and games available, along with the option to sign up for a campus tour. Alumni are also invited to the Cardinal Barn to take a group alumni photo or individual photos.
At 1:00 p.m., the CUAA football team will be facing the Anderson Ravens in a home game played on the University’s new athletic field.
“Students are ready to celebrate the first homecoming game that will take place at our redesigned facility,” said Kate Maiuri, CUAA’s Coordinator of Student Activities and Retention. “We’re looking forward to the day and we’re hoping for a win,” she added.
The weekend will end with a post-game Alumni Afterglow, taking place at the Kreft Center for the Arts. This will provide alumni the opportunity to reminisce with one another and talk with campus leaders about CUAA’s future plans.
All events on Friday will be free of charge. Saturday events are available for a package price of $15 for adults and $8 for children.
