The Historic Earhart Manor

Completed in 1936, this storybook setting combines beauty with history, creating an ideal location for those occasions that are distinctly unique. The manor is a fully equipped, picturesque Northern European country house with spacious, private grounds, a pond, gazebo, and an abundance of flowers. The manor is perfect for a glorious picnic, holiday party or business meeting. It is available for rent 7 days a week.

Living Room (Earhart Manor)

Once known as the room where Detroit Symphony Orchestra members entertained guests, it’s decorated in a tasteful green and yellow palate. The Living Room includes a fireplace, and opens up to the back patio with breathtaking views of the surrounding grounds. This meeting space can accommodate 30-40 people.

Library (Earhart Manor)

This cozy, mahogany-lined room, once Mr. Earhart’s personal study, seats 12-14 people and can be combined with the dining room for slightly larger gatherings. With an elegant yet masculine hunter green color palate, this room offers a fireplace, secret staircase to the billiard room and a lovely view of the patio and back lawn of the manor.

Dining Room (Earhart Manor)

This historic room is located just to the left of the manor’s main entrance. Furnished in a distinctive style reminiscent of the early 1930’s, its elegant atmosphere is perfect for an intimate gathering, with seating for 12-14 people. Inspired by a pastel green and yellow palate, this room includes a crystal chandelier, fireplace, bay window and double-glass doors with access to the large patio.

Ballroom (Earhart Manor)

Taking up a large portion of the 3rd floor, the ballroom has a seating capacity of 45 depending on the arrangement. Painted in a soft yellow and accentuated by the natural light from the arched skylight above, this room features a stage that can be used for musicians or for viewing a film or play.

Grounds and Patio (Earhart Manor)

Originally named “The Meadows,” the Earhart estate encompassed 400 acres from the Huron River northward. Though the estate has significantly less acreage today, the grounds still boast the beautiful gardens that the Earharts were so fond of. The natural beauty of the grounds makes a perfect backdrop for a spring, summer or fall wedding. The spacious patio and west porch can also be used for outdoor gatherings and ceremonies. With its beautiful views of the back lawn and gardens, this space is the perfect setting for guests of the manor.

Classroom and Residence Halls

Classrooms are available in three different buildings that can accommodate groups as small as 15 and as large as 90. All rooms are air-conditioned and have LCD projectors. Residence Halls hold 32 people each and are available for rent from May through August.
