Fall Show

The fall semester show is a straight (non-musical) production, a drama or comedy, period or contemporary. Recent titles include The Miracle Worker, A Christmas Carol, The Glass Menagerie, Scapino, Little Women, The Diary of Anne Frank, and Anne of Green Gables. Auditions are typically held the first week of class, with rehearsals three to four evenings a week, with four performances in October. Each production is given full technical support with scenery, lighting, costumes and sound.

Boar's Head Festival

The annual Festival, celebrating its 40th season on our campus in December 2017, is a proud continuation of a tradition that began over 700 years ago. Each December the chapel hosts the Concordia choir, a professional orchestra, the technical and acting talents of the theater department, as well as over 100 members of the community for this Advent celebration. The first half reenacts a medieval Christmas banquet, and the second half celebrates the Nativity, culminating in a prayerful remembrance. All community members are welcome to participate.

Spring Show

Each spring the music and theater departments join to present a full-scale musical production. Recent titles include Godspell, You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown, Johnny Pie and The Fantastiks. The musical director, accompanist and choreographer join with the other production staff to create a wonderful learning experience which culminates in four performances in April. Auditions are held in mid-December, so participants have the break to start working on their roles.
