Built on a Christian foundation

As your young adult steps into their future at Concordia University Ann Arbor, you can rest assured they’ll be embraced by a community where they are cared for and nurtured. We make it our mission to give our students the tools they need to live successful, Christ-centered lives, no matter what path they choose.

CUAA is a Lutheran university committed to academic excellence and built on a foundation of the teachings of Christ. At Concordia University we:

  • Offer over 50 majors and 50+ minors grounded in faith and stewardship
  • Emphasize Christian growth and wisdom as well as academic achievement
  • Offer a wide variety of ministry and service opportunities, both on and off campus

CUAA’s mission

Our mission is to provide a Lutheran higher education community that’s committed to helping our students develop in mind, body and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and in the world.

Focused on individual attention

We’ve got an open door policy at CUAA that’s embraced by everyone, from professors and deans to CUW/CUAA President, Dr. Patrick Ferry. We’re big enough to provide a wealth of educational opportunities and small enough that classes are taught by experienced professors instead of teaching assistants. Our students benefit from a student/faculty ratio of 16:1 at Concordia, which means we’ll know your son or daughter by name.

Committed to an affordable education

At CUAA, 99% of undergraduate students receive financial aid. We’re committed to providing an affordable, high-quality Christian education that will continue to benefit our students over the course of their entire lifetime. To learn about our Luther Promise program, click here.

Set in an outstanding location

CUAA stands on 187 acres overlooking the scenic Huron River on the outskirts of Ann Arbor. We are within minutes of the vibrant Big Ten college town of Ann Arbor. A small, private, personal education is possible in an area with big college town benefits like:

  • Small companies and global corporations that offer summer jobs and internships
  • Major college sporting events
  • Entertainment and the arts
  • Shopping and restaurants
  • Professional events in Detroit

Embracing a welcoming culture

Yes, college is about academics, but it’s also about building relationships. Your young adult will create memories and build friendships that will last a lifetime. From student clubs and groups to intramural sports, we offer a wide variety of ways for students to get involved on campus.

Why a Christian education matters

The benefits of a Christ-centered higher-education extend far beyond the time our students spend on campus and in the classroom. A Lutheran education prepares them to balance the technical and spiritual aspects of their careers and to view those careers as a way to be of service to others.
