  • Biology major - Our 63 credit degree program provides a comprehensive education in the natural sciences and a strong foundation for graduate study and biology-related careers.
  • Biology minor – Our 24 credit minor delivers detailed knowledge of living organisms and systems and how they affect the world in which we live.

Learning Outcomes

As a CUAA Biology student, you will:

  • Evaluate contemporary, technological and societal issues in biology in the context of a Christian worldview
  • Explore the interactions between organisms and their environment
  • Study human anatomy and physiology
  • Investigate the skeletal, muscular, and nervous systems
  • Study zoology and the biology of animals in their natural environment
  • Build knowledge of botany through in-depth study of plants in their natural habitat
  • Study the biology and genetics of organisms too small to be seen by the human eye including bacteria, viruses, and eukaryotic microbes
  • Complete lab work using light microscope slides, computer-based data collection and analysis
  • Explore general and organic chemistry, statistics, physics and genetics
  • Investigate questions about the origin of life and the physical universe
