Writing Center Drop-In Hours

No appointment necessary - drop right in! Writing Center drop-in hours are advertised around campus every semester. Feel free to stop by for help during any of the advertised hours.

If you would rather set an appointment, those are available, too! Visit the ARC in Zimmerman Library and talk to the student desk worker Monday - Thursday 8:00 am - 8:00 pm and Friday from 8:00 am- 4:30 pm. He or she would be happy to schedule an appointment with you. If email is easier, feel free to email ARC@cuaa.edu and we can set an appointment up for you that way, too.

A third option is to schedule directly through TutorTrac:

  • Login to TutorTrac using your portal student ID and password
  • On the right side, under the drop-down list labeled "Center" choose the ARC location
  • To view all possible availabilities this should be the only search criteria noted
  • Click on "Search"

Preparing for a writing consultation

Please bring a description of the assignment guidelines to your appointment; if you have an outline or written draft, please bring that as well. You may also bring class notes or handouts explaining the project, sources that you want to use, or any brainstorming or questions that you have.

If you schedule an appointment merely for extra credit, this does not mean your visit will be quick. Telling the consultant that you are only there for extra credit does not mean that they will just sign a form for you and let you leave. Come prepared to discuss your paper and actively participate in your appointment.

Please note: the Writing Center looks at academic writing specifically for courses here at Concordia. We do not look at resumes or cover letters. However, if you need advice with either of those you can go to the Career Engagement Studio in the Student Services Building. They will be glad to help you out!
