COVID-19 Questions or Concerns?

August 6, 2021 Update

August 6, 2021

We strongly encourage masking indoors starting August 9, and get vaccinated!

Dear Concordia Family,

I hope you are enjoying good health and positive experiences with your family and friends during these last few weeks of summer. Please know that we have been praying for you, planning for you, and preparing for a great year.

A large part of our summer preparation has been dedicated to closely monitoring the ever-changing COVID-19 situation. Recent developments on the national and state level have necessitated important new guidance that will be implemented on our campus, effective Monday, August 9.

In accordance with CDC guidelines and in full cooperation with state and local health officials, Concordia University is adopting the latest Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) guidance related to mask recommendations.

The University strongly encourages all students, employees, and members of the public to wear masks indoors regardless of vaccination status. This includes all classrooms and laboratories, all work areas inside all campus buildings, as well as all residential halls and at all events taking place inside. People are not required to wear masks in individual offices or if they are in their own personal rooms with their roommates.

While we adhere to the new mask recommendations, it is also imperative that individuals who are not yet vaccinated seek vaccination as soon as possible. Please consider doing your part in receiving a vaccination not only for your own health, but for the health of your family, friends and colleagues. There continue to be many vaccines readily available at locations near and around campus.

Please visit cuaa.edu/Covid19 to find the latest COVID-19 updates.

Each one of us has a role to play in keeping our community, campus, and loved ones safe. Thank you for your active engagement and concern for others.

God’s peace,

Dr. Peterson
