Welcome to Concordia! Concordia University, Ann Arbor (CUAA) is home to about 1,000 students enrolled in over 50 majors and programs of study. Among those students are individuals who have military affiliations including veterans, reservists, and ROTC students. Many military personnel also have families.
This webpage is designed to guide military personnel and their families toward our veteran and military student resources and support. As an institution of the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod, we are committed to caring for each student with their unique journey of life, walking beside them as they “develop in mind, body and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and in the world.”
CUAA is a “Military Friendly” university! We are recognized by the following organizations as having superb care of our veterans:
Active Duty Personnel
CUAA is a good place for active duty personnel to earn a degree, continuing their personal and professional advancement. We accept the Armed Forces Tuition Assistance (TA) Program. This program offers eligible Army, Navy, Air Force, Marine Corps, Coast Guard, National Guard, and Reserve members 100% of their tuition expenses for voluntary higher education taken during off-duty hours.
Reserve and Guard Duty Personnel
Reserve Duty Personnel who are activated under Title 10 orders, may qualify for the Tuition Assistance (TA) Program as well. (Please see “Active Duty Personnel” above.) Each branch of service administers its own benefits criteria, including award amounts, eligibility, restrictions, and application process. CUAA is dedicated to ensuring all of our military personnel are able to do well in their academic pursuits, even if interrupted by active duty service.
CUAA is a “Lutheran higher education community” that values supporting veterans with a sense of family, connecting to others as vital for thriving while earning a degree. We are dedicated to providing support through veterans’ groups, Veterans’ Day Celebrations, counseling, career services, etc.
We are committed to working with veteran students and their families to ensure affordable education. Our veteran students can count on our staff and financial aid department to assist in any way we can. Veterans have numerous options using military education benefits, applying for scholarships, and utilizing financial aid if needed.
