How to Accept Your Award Letter

AWARD LETTER INSTRUCTIONS

Academic scholarships for traditional undergraduate students

Students are eligible for a Distinguished, Regents, or Honors scholarship

  • Scholarships range from $5,000-10,000
  • Eligibility is based on student´s high school GPA and ACT score
  • Renewable while GPA remains above 2.49

Note: Award can be recalculated at the request of the student if GPA increases and at least two semesters have been completed

Academic scholarships for transfer students

Students are eligible for a Transfer Distinguished, Transfer Regents, or Transfer Honors Scholarship

  • Scholarships range from $3,000-7,000
  • Eligibility is based on student´s weighted GPA
  • Renewable while GPA remains above 2.49 

Note: Award can be recalculated at the request of the student if GPA increases and at least two semesters have been completed

Recognition awards for transfer and traditional undergraduate students

Cardinal Award

  • Award amount is $2,000
  • Awarded to students not receiving an academic scholarship

Concordia Grant

  • Award amount is up to $7,000
  • Eligibility is determined by achievement and financial need
  • Student must file a FAFSA 

Talent awards

Athletic

  • Amount of award varies
  • Amount is based on the recommendation of the student´s coach
  • Renewable for the duration of student's NAIA eligibility
  • Student must be full-time, living on campus, and maintain a GPA above 1.99
  • Athletic scholarships are subject to review based on academic performance and enrollment status, and are subject to change based on availability 

Music

  • Students with training in vocal or instrumental music can learn more here about our opportunities
  • Amount is based on the recommendation of the department 

Art

  • Students with a major or minor in art can contact Chris Niemie to schedule an appointment for a portfolio review
  • Amount is based on the recommendation of the department 

Note: Talent awards are renewable so long as the student meets the respective requirements and maintains a GPA above 1.99

Theatre

Church Work scholarships

Full time students majoring in Pre-Seminary, Lutheran Education, or Lay Ministry may be eligible if the following requirements are met:

  • Student is a member in good standing of a LCMS congregation
  • A financial aid application must be submitted before March 15
  • GPA must exceed 2.49 

Students with a GPA of 3.00 or above and living on campus will receive a $10,000 guarantee of financial aid funds. The awarded amount can be reviewed once, at the student´s request after one year, if there is a change in GPA.

Education scholarships

The education scholarships are awarded to students who are enrolled in an Education and/or Church work major. They are awarded to current CUW students. See the information below about each scholarship to see if you are eligible to apply.

Opportunity Grant

The Opportunity Grant is available to prospective, minority students. If selected, the scholarship amount can be up to $20,000.
