Fall semester offers a comedy or drama. Selections are made from both contemporary and period literature. Spring semester offers a musical. Theatre Practicum credit is available for both, and required one time for theatre and musical theatre minors.

Auditions and Crew Calls

For fall and spring shows are held individually for each production. Notices are posted on campus monitors and bulletin boards, and communicated by email to active theatre students.

Boar’s Head Festival

Three performances of the Boar’s Head Festival are presented in the campus chapel the first weekend of December, an annual event since 1967. The Festival marks the beginning of Advent by first depicting a medieval Christmas banquet, and then the Nativity. A professional orchestra joins our music and theatre departments in the worshipful celebration. The cast of over one hundred adults and children is taken from the University and surrounding community. Musical direction is by Dr. Brian Altevogt, Director of Choral Music. Interested vocalists should email him at:

Recruitment for actors, singers, dancers and technicians begins in August, with all interested individuals given appropriate roles. Rehearsals begin in November, and are once weekly. Non-choir interested individuals may contact the Theatre Production Manager, Angie Lai, at
