Transition Leaders

Transition Leaders (TL's) serve during Fall Welcome Weekend as enthusiastic and encouraging role models, mentors, and sources of information for new students as they transition into college. As a Transition Leader, you play a vital role in facilitating small group sessions that explore the topics of student engagement, campus safety, time management, healthy lifestyles and diversity.

Required knowledge, skills, and traits:

  • Knowledgeable about university resources
  • Good teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate self and others
  • Passionate about helping new students acclimate socially and academically
  • Sociable, friendly, and empathetic
  • Strong time management skills
  • Takes pride in the university and demonstrates school spirit
