Come drop-in
The Math Drop-In Desk offers free tutoring for most 100-200 level and some 300-400 level math courses at CUAA, as well as assistance with math questions in relation to courses in finance, business, science, or any other course with a math component. Math Drop-In consultations take place on a first-come, first-served basis in individualized, 30-minute sessions.
Who are the math consultants?
Math Drop-In consultants are typically math, math education, or actuarial science majors who have a strong background in math and have taken a broad range of math courses here at CUAA. A few consultants also have experience with math in the sciences.
No appointment needed
While regular tutoring requires an appointment (at least 24 hours in advance) the Math Drop-In Desk does not require an appointment.
How the Math Drop-In works
Whenever you have a quick question, feel free to stop by the Math Desk (located in the ARC) to see if someone is available. If the consultant is helping another student, just wait until they’re finished. Since appointments are only 30-minutes long, you won’t be waiting long!
Students can visit the Math Drop-In Desk twice weekly although not in back to back sessions. That’s a total of one hour per week of one-on-one, individualized math tutoring!
