Have you invented something that could change the world?

Do you want to copyright something you think might be incredibly valuable? Turning your scholarship and ideas into products is a way to have real social impact, and also generate revenue. If you are this person, you may be a budding entrepreneur – or, since there are two bottom lines at stake – you are what is known as a “social entrepreneur.” The mission of the Concordia University Technology Transfer Office is to help you translate your ideas into social impact.

Technology transfer is the process of translating ideas and creations that can be patented or copyrighted into commercial products. This is something universities have become involved in since the Bayh Dole Act was passed in 1980. Concordia University now has a Technology Transfer Office (TTO) that is part of the Office of Research and Sponsored Programs (ORSP).

Contact us for assistance with preparation and filing of: (a) Material transfer agreements, (b) Confidential disclosure agreements, (c) Invention disclosure filings, (d) Provisional patent filing, (e) Securing of copyright protection, and (f) Business development/marketing. These documents are maintained by the Technology Transfer Office.
